I'm not sure of what to say this week as I just had the opportunity to talk to you on Sunday, but a lot has transpired since talking to you...! We had mission wide conference yesterday!! It was pretty amazing to see all the missionaries. That is the first time it has happened since being on a mission! Had many different games and took a picture of the mission as a whole! sweet! :) We then had the opportunity to listen to our leaders Help us to get ready for the new year! :) Many new things are going to happen this year! :) Can't wait!

Well Love you!

Well this one will be rather short... cause well you see Sunday will be Skype
Thanks for the Christmas tree I finally got it I found out that the Zone Leaders have had it for a while as it goes to the office if there is a meeting the zone Leaders take it from the meeting and bring it to us... so that is why it took so long!
This week has gone by rather fast! It has been Cold and rainy most of the week which is good! we broke a record for rain fall in the last week so that is even better! It's gonna be green soon!
We'll have a green Christmas with cactus... So we had the opportunity to teach one of our investigators on Monday night. He has been against getting baptised since we started teaching him in October and well he brought up the topic and so we set a baptismal date with him for the 31st of Dec! Good way to start the new year I must say! YES!
I'm looking forward to seeing you all come Christmas time! Love you! Talk with you then!

Alright would someone please put a stop on the clock and slow down the time a little because Holy COW! It has been a rather amazing week to say the least, but it has gone by sooooo fast I don't know what to say...
I have had an amazing opportunity this week to go to the patriarch's house to help interpret for our recent convert's Patriarchal Blessing! It was a great testimony builder and strengthener of the Priesthood and the power of the Spirit in conversion! to see the many different things in her blessing that the Patriarch had no Clue about was amazing to see! :) We also had the opportunity to do quite a bit of welfare at the D.I. this week! Wow what a blessing we have to be able to have the gospel in our lives and to be part of his church! We talked with at few people there at the D.I. that weren't members, but had heard many great things about it! We talked with them and they had the opportunity to feel the love of the Savior. My testimony has been strengthened on the power of the Welfare program as I have seen the ability it has to help many of the members here who have next to nothing get through and be able to have a holiday season! wow what a blessing it is! The Lord Works in mysterious ways but often times it is through us because he can trust us! God Lives! Jesus is the Christ! As we follow them we will have the ability to Help those he needs us to!

Love you! Have a great week! :)

THis week has been rather fantastic the weather is rather beautiful ( mid 70's-80's) and well I as i said last week have a new companion. We have hit the ground running pretty hard! we haven't found new investigators as of yet, but all is well. one of the people we have been teaching has committed to be baptized soon so that will be great!
We were out looking for this one man this week and rather than finding him we met a lady whom speaks spanish and well my companion was called as a spanish missionary and wel his assignment was changed this last transfer as he has had a little experience before! he talked to her for a few minutes and well got the address of a deaf person she knew! :) wow amazing what the lord does to help us and move us along! I don't think i have stopped laughing since I picked him up at the transfer site last tuesday! My cheeks hurt real bad!
We had an interesting thanksgiving! We went member hopping as much as we could to try and visit a few people, but no one really wants to see us on thanksgiving so we made the best of it then went to olive garden. my card wouldn't work, but I called to Zions Bank and got it all fixed up! :) but all is well here! Hope you have a fantastic week!
Love you

Well it being the week of thanksgiving and all it is going to be a rather different week this week, but I'm truly looking forward to this week!!! I got a new companion this week. Elder Cavanaugh from Maine. He has had 2 years experience in signing in high school and well quite frankly, i'm not sure which high school it was, but he came out at like a college level signer. really cool kid and I can't wait to get moving!!! It is going to be a great transfer. He has been out now for almost 3 months so it is going to be great he still has the MTC vibe and will to work! :) This week I invited the sister missionaries to come and talk in the branch ooh what a great opportunity to share about missionary work and also compassion. Hope it will work as President and Sister Killpack are coming to speak on the 27th.
We have been finding that many of the deaf are opening up to us here and getting to and are more willing to talk with us and allow us to help them and are being more receptive to the gospel! Often time the Lord works in mysterious ways and the fruits come later! I have a feeling that is what is happening now!! The Lord is blessing us and helping us to become who he needs us to be.
Temperature is dropping... in the 60-70's this week and I FROZE my hind off!!! ooh boy I got another thing comin!
Well gotta run! Have a great Week and a happy thanksgiving!
Love you,

14 November 2011

This week was completely nuts! first i have to say that president is following in my footsteps! he is using me as an example... i'm not so sure if it is in a good way... he was sandwiched recently in his avalon too and was hit at 40 miles per hour from the rear pushing him into the car in front of him... with a general authority Elder O. Vincent Haleck in his car with him... Elder Haleck went to the Hospital... but thank heavens it was after mission conferences were over!!! :)
So that leads me to the rest of the week! On thursday we had the opportunity to Hear from Elder Haleck and his wife as well as President and sister Killpack and Stake President Lewis! It was a truly fantastic meeting on the book of mormon and being who the Lord needs us to be. This mission has been struggling to find and baptise for the last 6-12 months in all aspects, but as we have been focusing on the small and simple things that might have been overlooked or missed before we have seen the great success!!! Numbers of people are rising in retention and conversion as well as personal satisfaction in the work is growing. Whom the Lord Calls he Qualifies. Whom the Lord Qualifies He calls!
Great success is headed our way by recieving blessings for doing the Small and SIMPLE things!
He loves us and knows what we are doing every step of the way! As we show him our humility and desire he will make us capable of doing his work.
"If the Book is True... It is true... " - President Killpack

Know I know it is true as we make a daily study in The book of mormon our lives will change completely. Do it see your life change as has mine!
Love you all!

Walkin' in a winter wonderland!
yeah It ain't quite a winter wonderland yet, but it is getting cold enough to be. it is 44 and well i don't think it has been over 65 this week! I'm freezing! I bought a sweater just in time for that one! yeah!
This week went by pretty quickly and well it was pretty different! We had an investigator at church it was awesome! so great testimonies were shared. normally it is a travel log meeting of where the members went to in the last week or so and well not this time it was on tithing, trials, blessings, the restoration, ect. I have been working so hard to show them what a real testimony is and not just a Travel Log. what a blessing! :)
We are working to find a few new investigators as we do have a few referals, but they seem never to be home. Life is great!!! :) I am doing real pretty good!
I went to the dr. this week and they said they didn't need to take any more x-rays, but they would put me in physical therapy for the next 3 months 3 times a week and see how it goes from there! I am still seeing the chiropractor, and that really helps too! we'll see how it goes!
I got ya'lls package on wednesday! Thanks so much! :() sorry it is short, but i'm standing up and typing and well i have cramps in my arms from doing so, so this is it!!
Love you talk to you later this week when we can sit down! :)
Love you!

31 October 2011

Alright so it is the last day of the month and well Where did October go? I'm still looking back at my planner and wondering where it went! everyday is filled out, but it seems like it's over!!! aaaah! November just around the corner it is super scary before i know it, it will be Christmas...
Well this week went pretty well for the teaching and all... still finding people to teach, but it is amazing to see the way the Lords prepares his chose children to be found by his chosen servants! This week Elder Bradley and I were on exchanges (he comes with me in my area) we are interpreting for a black deaf less active member of the branch. I looked up saw him looked down and then bam her was gone. don't really know what happened. Later that day we went to the Police station to get a police report, which i found out you can now get it online... www.tucsonAZ.gov/police
on the right side is a column that says request a copy of a report
the number is 1110170663
you can get one for our records!!!

We went to another less active man whom we hadn't seen i a few months. His has some trouble with same sex attraction, but we knocked on his door as we always do. we saw him in his apartment and he normally ignores us. he normally looks through the hole then walks away and ignores us. this time he didn't!!!!! :) HE actually looked out opened the door and talked with us for a few minutes :) the lord humbles people in many different ways! :) this is one we have been waiting to get into for some time now!!! :) finally!

I love it here! it has been so awesome to see the lord preparing his children as well as his servants! :)

Thanks for all you do! :)
Love you!!
Happy Halloween!

We went into the dr. office last night about 5:30 and didn't leave until10:30 or so
They took xrays and checked them over thoroughly as well as gave me meds to dull the pain for the time being
Naproxin, Tylenol #3, Cyclobenzaprine pain reliever, inflamation reducer and muscle relaxer. very low doses.
They will look at an MRI in the coming week to make sure everything is taken care of and look for other avenues if there are any!

Wow how time flies when you are having fun! I can't believe that it is already the middle of the month and well quite frankly yesterday was the 1st of the month!! This month has literally flown by and well i'm not sure what to say! we found a new investigator this week and well it's been kinda rough teaching him and her both! wow! Alfonzo is a mexican american how he passed the entrance exam is beyond me, but he doesn't sign american sign language or read english so i'm taking it on me to learn a little MSL ( Mexican Sign Language ) It has been real fun! Then Olivia she comes from a really tough life of curiosity and pleasure! She loves the missionaries and the gospel as she recognizes that it helps her to find peace! They have been progressing pretty slow it seems because of their language barrier and their education level, but the lord has been preparing them and is helping them to work towards the goal of baptism!

Things in the mission are changing and they are rather awesome changes! You'll probably hear about them in church news and in the weeks to follow we have zone training and interviews this week so we will see how that goes! :) lots of new things coming our way we are told! so I'm really looking forward to that! The president is looking to change the face of this mission completely! It's gonna be awesome! Can't wait!
Well gotta run!!
Love you all!

Well it has been a rather interesting week and a pretty rough one too! The Work is very slow and well the Back pain has been through the roof!
We found 2 news this last week one last night and one last week thursday! The one last night has just had an abortion and struggles a lot with repentance and recieving forgiveness! The lord will help her and us as we help her to get though it! The other is a 65-70 year old man from mexico. He signs what it called LSM ( Language of Sign Mexican ) It has been a real challenge espically with a companion who can't sign and who can't understand what i am saying! it is really difficult, but there is still hope! the lord has put me in this situation to learn something, even if it is just that I can do hard things! He knows what he is doing and well I guess I haven't yet learned something that I need to learn! I will be getting a new companion next transfer. That will be a few days prior to Thanks giving! on the 22nd! The Lord loves us and is helping us to prepare his children now and in the future for others to follow!

3 October 2011

This is once another week of some exciting things and well many new blessings! the Lord has been helping us to continue and to find those who are ready to recieve the gospel. We have been looking for a few new people to teach and it has been pretty difficult for us to find anyone recently. we have a few referrals, but no one has been home...

We had an awesome baptism this week during general conference sessions and I had the opportunity to baptise her! We need to find some new priesthood holders though it seems like we have been teaching women and baptising them and no new priesthood. The Stake president was worried about that some as well as the mission and Branch president. we will do our best and the Lord will make up the difference.

So General Conference WOOOOOOW!!! That is about all that I can say about that!!! It was awesome to watch and to see the bretheren speak right to us!!!
So some of the really cool talks that I enjoyed were 1 from Elder neil L Andersen in the Saturday session and the From Jeffery R Holland in Priesthood meeting! WOW!

Take a watch at that one for sure and if you want to see it even more violent with jeffery R hollands talk pull up the interpreter! WOW! Well it has been a pretty amazing week to say the least, but now it is time to go back to work and "save some souls"!

Know I love you! Have an amazing week!

26 september 2011

This week has been rather different in more ways than one!! We have been working for the goal of finding a new investigator. we have yet to find one, but we have been searching our hardest and praying A LOT! yes it's been tough, but well worth it! We started the week off really busy since our investigator last week who was baptised on Friday didn't show up for her confirmation. come to find out she got suck far away at her sisters house and missed the last bus to town and the next bus doesn't come until 10 am Sunday morning then the 2 hour ride across town just well we'll put it this way didn't make it to church!!! We continued to teach her and help her to understand the importance of the holy ghost in the process of baptism and becoming a member of the church! she was confirmed by me yesterday during Sacrament meeting! it was awesome! we had the Most people there in the branch and possibly set a record for number in attendance to the branch ever! 57:) awesome! :) We have another baptism planned for this Saturday October 1st. we have been teaching her almost my whole mission and has finally decided that it is more important for her to be baptised than to live with her boyfriend! :) The lord is preparing people every day for us to find and as we are prepared he will bless us and help us in his work!!!

This week we had the opportunity to go to a Deaf Festival. The mission paid for a booth so that we could have a place there to expose the church to the deaf community! we recieved 4 refferals and a few other people we were teaching before told us to come back and one told us that "She wanted to be a Mormon" :) That is the missionaries happiest day when someone comes and says they want it! :)

The work goes well and well it's starting to cool off!!! NOT COOL! it is 85 and I have my sweater on and i'm freezing in the buildings! wow! well gotta run!!!

Love you!

Bueno familia,

Hey I got your letter this week! :) thanks so much it was muy bueno! :) I have been getting mail recently and it is great! :) thanks! this week has been super nuts! we have a baptism coming up on friday and Kelly is super excited for it! :) she can't wait!! she asked me to baptise her and Help her to make this covenant! What a great opportunity!!! All the missionaries are looking forward to it:) they say there is a special spirit about a deaf baptism that can't really be explained! :) I can't wait!! Conducting, baptising, leading the singing! can't wait!! the lord is blessing us as we do our best to help him!!! :)

this week in Institute class we Learned about revelation and why personal revelation is crucial, that it is the only way that we can progress and become closer to our heavenly father... The teacher then challenged us to once again pray to know if the book of mormon is true and if joseph smith is a prophet. I remember when Elder bradley first got here. we were tracting and came upon a Jehovah Witness man. we taught him for a few minutes then left. Elder Bradley asked me why people won't listen to us and why this work was so hard. I leaned over to him and asked him why are you here? he looked at me and said hmm. with a puzzled face then I asked him again... why are you here? His simple answer was to teach people about the gospel. I looked him in the eyes and said simply to Baptise. he looked again at me confused and said I don't understand. My purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ through faith in jesus christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end!

Christ made this all possible. We mess up we repent, we start over again and mess up, but we don't give up we continue on the road back to the celestial Kingdom through Faith in jesus Christ, repentance, baptism ( partaking of the sacrament each week), Living worthy of the Holy ghost, and enduring to the End, keeping this cycle going and active in our lives. As we do so we will be blessed by our faith and determiniation to follow him!

He loves us and is ready for us to follow him. now is our time to do so, to "Raise the Bar" and do a little bit more for him. Forget ourselves and go to work. go about his work. Follow him!

I Love you !! hope ya'll have a great week!!!

6 September 2011

Alrighty so yesterday being a holiday It is my opportunity to write to you a day late!! :) haha! This week has been rather different week! We had a missionary return here this week to Arizona, but not as the family had planned... She was t-boned in New York while serving there and passed away and returned back to her Heavenly Father. It has been a real testimony builder for me to be able to help and to serve. All the missionaries in the Tucson area were asked to go to her funeral to support their family in this difficult time. We consented to go and to my amazement there were hundreds of people there to support them and the family as well as about 100 missionaries. It was a great blessing. I also was recruited to interpret, along with Elder Bradley. I interpreted for Elder Pickerd of the 70 and Elder Evans of the first quorum of the 70. I looked a little puzzled when asked to interpret, being that I can't hear all that well and well I didn't miss a beat! The lord is working well through us and is truly helping us to accomplish his work!!!

So recently We were driving and I felt this really weird impression to go to the public Library on our way to a members house for dinner, we were late again ( I think that is the life of a missionary ) but I decided to follow it. I went in not knowing what to expect or what to do. I went in went to the bathroom and then looked around the place for a deaf person or persons using sign language.... nothing... I then looked over to 4 laptops sitting at the table and there was a previous investigator we were teaching that we had lost contact with because she had gone homeless... we found her, talked with her and set a return appointment and she now has a baptismal date for October 1st.
We have a baptismal interview for one other lady we are teaching. Kelly. She is excited to be baptised and I can hardly wait!! we are struggling to find, but it is step by step process that the Lord is building us to make us who he needs to be for someone else as well as giving my new AWESOME companion the opportunity to learn some more sign. He shared his testimony for the first time and prayed for the first time yesterday. It was amazing! The gift of tongues (languages) is truly real!

One story that has rather impacted me: I was fixing lunch a few weeks back with really nothing in mind of what to eat. I looked in the fridge and didn't find much there and then looked to the freezer hopefully something would be there!! i looked down into the vent of the freezer and noticed it had a little scum and i decided that I would clean it out! i went to get the screw driver put all the food on the table and went to work. I took off the plastic bottom piece and much to my suprise i found a lot more that i had bargained for. grit and grim all over the place. I sprayed it with bleach and couldn't get it to come up. I continued again nothing. so I went for vinegar and tried that, still nothing, back and let the bleach soak in and it took it off. put it all back together, but there was a little stain left so I worked a little harder scrubbing and finally got it to come up. We could compare it to life and the repentance process. Repentance isn't easy. Sometimes we find ourselves doing something that leads to something else such as finding the big mess. we try to hide it with bleach and it goes for a little bit, but doesn't get everything. so we try something else go to a different place to be healed, but still nothing. finally we go to the source of the problem and the one who can fix everything else. The savior. He sprays the bleach, lets it soak and helps to make us clean. At first it isn't easy, but as we work on it and keep trying He takes that pain and guilt away, the scum, grit and grime in us, out.
He lives and love us. He payed the dearest price for you and me that we can return to live with him. It is our duty to do all we can to make our lives in accordance with his will so that we can be together forever.
Love you all! Thanks for all your support! :)
Love,

alrighty it has been a totally nutty and crazy week this week!! I'm not sure what to say, but our investigator CAME TO CHURCH for the second time!!! it is such a milestone for her!! she was taught by the sister missionaries back in well like 2000-2005 and well she never went to church and really didn't have much interest in the church! she now has come 2 weeks in a row and even said she liked Stake Conference! that is a first!! i remember last stake conference about 6 months ago we had a baptism following that! it was so great and we have another one ready to go on the 11 of Sept! the lord works in mysterious ways and well it has been amazing! :) I am so excited for this next transfer and can't wait for it to begin! my companion should be here at 3pm coming in from the gila valley about 2 hours away! :) i love it!!! I've heard he is really apostate, but the only thing president told me was teach him how to obey and don't put up with any crap! ooh boy those are inspiring words! :) Teach him and get him BUSY and learn the language! :) can't wait!! He is elder Thacher. I'm not sure anything about him, no preassumed notions on my part so we shall see!! i'll be keeping you up to date!! love you!!!

22 August 2011

Well it has been a rather interesting week with a really different outcome than i used to. I was teaching our investigator, Kelly, about the Restoration of the Gospel on Tuesday. I had Elder Christiansen with me. He is my District Leader. He is from American Falls, but some of his family is from Burley. Christiansen Implements. any who, we were waiting for a member to show up for our lesson, but deems she was late we started anyway thinking that she stood us up. so I was teaching, seeing that he doesn't know much sign language, and for some reason we ended up reading in 3 Nephi 11. Before starting the lesson I told him just to sit tight and if he wanted to add anything that he could at anytime and i would sign it for him. He agreed. I taught for almost 20 minutes, but our member hadn't shown up yet for our lesson to explain and get her to come to church. I simply continued, I then felt an overwhelming sense of peace, cause i was worried that the member would be offended that we had started, but as i finished up the first vision she showed up and shared her testimony of it and how it had impacted her life. she was just baptised on May 7. it was a great lesson. We got back into the car and I turned to him and asked what he thought. he looked at me and said i understood almost everything. i gave him a dirty look and then asked him what i taught. He said it word for word. almost exactly how i taught it!! it was absolutely amazing! :) The Lord is blessing us, just taking the time now to gain the trust back from the members and get them to do their missionary work again! It is a great blessing to be here at this time! :)
I love it!

hope all to be well!!

love you!

Familia,
Alright so this week has been a total crazy week! lots of things happening, but it has been truly stressful most often more than this OLD body can handle!!!! It for sure has been a great challenge and a burden, but the lord has been helping to get me through!! I started out the week this week in the English program worked there on Sunday and Monday, then recieved a call from president Killpack on tuesday morning that he would like for me and my 2 companions to meet with him at his office at 2 pm. I was a little nervous being that I wasn't sure what was going to be happening and all!!! Well I now am transferred back to the Deaf program and am working there with Elder Pickett for the time being! That has been the biggest challenge for me so far having to teach with no one really to back me up!! He has been learning now for 6 days and still can't introduce himself or spell his name it is really difficult for me!! Given time I think he can do it, but I hope my patience will endure that long!! I even had ice cream if that will tell you how high strung i have been recently! scary! haha!

But it is amazing to see the blessing that we have received recently. God really has been by us and helped to buoy us up and keep us going!! we found a new investigator this week! Kelly is her name. Is a really interesting character and loves to smoke, but hopefully we can get her to stop!! she has a desire to learn and go to church so we will see what happens.

you all take care and enjoy your week at the fair! :)
Love you!!!

Family,

It's been a pretty interesting week and well quite a busy week at that!! The Lord has been taking care of us and helping us to accomplish his work! :)
We spent a lot of time in the House as we are living with members. One of my companions was sick this week and so as a result we all had to stay home, kind of a bummer, but learned a lot. Elder Pickett and I read conference talks and watched a few church movies, meanwhile, our other companion slept and tried to get better!!! We got 2 new investigators this week from the efforts of the stake president counsiler, it was really neat because they are all really involved in scouting and specifically Woodbadge, as well as Philmont! so most of our teaching is rooted around the scouting values and experiences that they or I have had as well as applying the gospel principles to it and helping them to find the gospel through it both scouting and teaching it has truly been a great experience for us! I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with the District Leaders companion this week In Corona de Tucson. E. Kasat is from Chile, so his english is well little weak with a really thick accent he has learned a lot! He will go home soon in October! we had a great time. It is in the middle of NO WHERE and well they really don't have roads you just kinda go where ever you want to go! it is really cool!! This week has been a pretty good week, not to complain but I am ready for a companion and to get back to the Deaf program. having 2 companions isn't really that much fun. alot of laughs and all, but really hard to get into homes with what looks like the FBI!

Have an awesome week and stay remotely cool! it has been beautiful here mid to upper 90's just perfect! :)

Love you!

1 August 2011

Alright so this week has been well not necessarily the Ideal week as a missionary, in terms of finding and teaching, but has been an awesome week in terms of development and learning to cope with the things that are coming our way!! :)
We found 3 new investigators this week and well they aren't the most solid, but they will be by the time I leave this area! They are really excited to share and do and to learn, as we are excited to help in their progression!!! I guess you could think of it as older people when they fall they have a difficult time getting back up and moving again. Millions and Billions of people are in that situation at this very moment, They have fallen and can't get up! They are trying, but the only way they will get up and stay up is through the gospel of Jesus Christ!!! Through Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end (the hardest part for us all). As we keep getting up every time we fall, it makes it easier for us to get through the challenges of life and keep going!

Copy this to you address bar or double click on it and watch it!

https://lds.org/youth/video/same-jersey?lang=eng

These 2 young men will be coming here next week and will do a fireside for the youth!! It will be truly exciting and hopefully will help to boost their missionary efforts! :)

Elder Bradley or I will be getting transferred soon to another mission and will bring in another elder from that mission to replace him! It will be interesting! :)
I'm looking forward to it, but truly do miss him. The lord has a reason for everything and He knows the best! So it is looking up!
I went to church at the deaf branch this week and they were truly truly happy to see me! :) I can't wait to get back there!!! :) Hopefully the end of this week! :)
After church I interpreted for a lady in the rita ranch ward! I never thought I could do that, but the Lord is blessing me and helping us to accomplish his work!! :)
The Lady said she hadn't been to Relief Society in almost 1 year because she couldn't understand it! Crazy! it is great to be able to help!
I love it here! :) can;t wait to get back to work! :)
Love you all!!!

19 July 2011

Alright so this week has been super busy and well I'm not sure where to start!! We have our one investigator who is progressing quite well towards baptism, but she announced to us that she will be moving at weeks end! uuh!! other than that well we haven't been able to find any other people to teach!! Searching in a haystack is kind of difficult, but it is getting better!! :) there are many new things going to happen real soon!! the mission president is ready to do and to really be and help us to to the same!!
We have been really busy with the branch this week!!! I have worn every hat in the branch except relief Society President this week, as well as was given a new calling!!!! hmmm.... Branch Executive Secretary on top of all the other callings that we have!! Home teacher, Counsilor in the Branch presidency, .......... It's been a great experience!!!! I'm almost done reading the handbook of instruction, and well quite frankly there are alot of things in there I didn't now even really mattered, but wow...

We have been extremely blessed even if it isn't in the finding of new investigators, but in the bringing of those who were once lost, find themselves, for the second time!! Less Active members have been working their way back!!! It is great to see the fruits of our labors and really have the opportunity to help even if it is not in baptising people it is like that all over again for them!!!!

The church is true!! God lives, Loves us and wants for us to be with him again!!! as we do as he asks and follow his teachings we will be blessed and be able to live in his presence together again! Remember there are to be no Empty chairs in heaven!!! I love you!!!
Great to hear from you all!!

So The Lord works in mysterious Often times we aren't sure what the heck it is for and Why we are experiencing it!
Yesterday in the branch a lot of stuff happened. We replaced all the Priesthood leaders from their various callings and replaced them along with in the next 2 or 3 weeks will be changing out the Relief Society. We finally have an Elders Quorum President now, along with the High Priest Group Leader :) I never thought I would see the day that it happened and well it did!!! :) The Stake Presidency That we have is very supportive of the missionary program and is very concerned of the welfare of all in his jurisdiction it is rather phenomenal :)

This week has been The most up and down week I think in the entire mission and for sure the only week we have taught very few lessons :( It seems when we work our butt off and give it all we can it doesn't seem to work, but when we don't everything starts to happen, but we keep working our butt off until something will happen!! The Lord is working very hard to make us who he needs to be and quite frankly it's great!!

I have had to preside in sacrament meeting now for 2 weeks! it has been rather stressful. It is amazing how the Lord helps us to learn to love the people even more and gives us the responsibility to do so!! The Branch president has been out of town for about 2 weeks in Ogden, Utah for a deaf convention, and well it has been a new challenge. It feels like it has been almost a completely sleepless week! The mission president even asked me why my eyes were red!! I almost fell asleep while driving and well it's been a great opportunity, but im glad it is only for 2 weeks!

I love the work here and can't wait to get this week rolling! :)

Love you all!!!

Alrighty, so I'm not for sure what to say again this week!! not a whole lot going on, but it has been a pretty humbling, and exciting week for us! WE GOT RAIN! that is the exciting part!
It seems that all we have the opportunity to do now is drive and see the view of the city all too much!! Going from deaf house to deaf house really gets a bit frustrating, but that is where it gets to be humbling. I've had a lot of time to talk with my companion recently, about the work about some of the struggles we are having and what we need to do to get more of the work progressing!! we met with the new mission president... By the way is really awesome!!! He is really motivated to get things done here!! He hadn't been here 24 hours and we got in to see him in his office and discuss the deaf branch and the work here!! He seems really motivated to help us!!! I have been real humbled this week to have the opportunity to see the potential that the branch has and the opportunity to preside in Sacrament meeting!! can you say scary? well it was and we started on time for the first time in quite sometime! :) The work is going well and the Lord is truly blessing us and helping us to become and helping others to come unto Christ! We don't realize what we have and often times we take if for granted. We move forward even if we don't see anyone beside my companion all day! he is fun to be with yes, just often time we see no person to share the gospel with it will often get frustrating, but the Lord knows it is for a reason and will help us no matter what we do.
Press forward with a steadfastness in Christ having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and of all men... That is our call!

Zone conference tomorrow and I can't wait to see what it is we will do to get this back up and running!!! the Lord loves you!!!! I love you!! Have an awesome week! :)

27 June 2011

Things here are going great!! we have had a pretty powerful week this week and lots has been happening!!! We have been meeting with a 86 year old lady now for almost 2 weeks and she finally agreed to a baptismal date and is preparing to get her life in order and make the mends necessary to be in accordance with god's will. We have been meeting with another man named Jerry Dain. We haven't been able to meet with him this week since every time we went to see him he wasn't home! For a man who has a physical handicap he is never home! We have been searching real hard for those who are ready to hear the gospel and have since dropped a few too! it just makes my heart curdle when I have to drop someone that we have worked with for some time now!!!
We had an awesome Zone Conference this week!! President and Sister Walkers Last Zone conference. I'm not really looking forward to them leaving tomorrow!! We talked with them last night on the phone and well president isn't ready for it. He's gonna be a lost and lonely puppy. I'm gonna miss him and sister walker!! I love them! They are awesome!! It was about the temple, making sure that there are no empty chairs there and that we do all that we can to make sure that there are no empty chair in heaven! Now is my plea, Get there! Don't allow for any empty chairs there! Do what you can to get back if you have strayed, or if you have messed up. Get on your knees and pray and do what you must to get there!!!! The Lord loves you and is willing and ready for you to be with him forever. Do it! There is no better gift that the lord or anyone could ask for than for his children to walk in righteousness!!! I love you and want to see you there!!! Be ye clean that bear the vessels of the lord! There is no time to waist in the service of the Lord! He is willing and waiting for all those to repent!!

I love you all!!!

20 June 2011

This week has been nuts! Super hot and really smokey with all the fires around here!!!! it was upwards of about 107 this week and looks to be climbing even higher next week and it isn't yet summer!!! I'm so looking forward to it!!! I got in the car and turned on the car looked at the temperature gauge on the rear view mirror and well it said 129 pretty nifty!!! :)

We found a new investigator recently on Saturday, He seems to be pretty good, just need to instill a desire to do and bada bing bada bang you got it!!!! It's been an interesting week! we had Interviews and soon have Zone Conference on Thursday then new mission president on Tuesday of the following week!!! It is going to be a heart breaker to see President and Sister Walker go home! Not really looking forward to that, but change is good and is worth it in the end!!! The Lord knows what he is doing and who needs to be where in whose life in order to make them who he needs them to be! ok so that might have been really confusing, but read it over and you should get it!!! :) The Lord is taking good care of us even if he forgot the Air Conditioner to keep it reasonable! The work is going well and well for the most part we are keeping busy and staying strong!! We were asked how long we had left last week at the meeting and I looked and calculated it all out! saw the number and well tears came to my eyes! just little over 6 months left and it's all over :( They said it was long. they are full of crap! Shortest 2 years ever! Love it! there is nothing that will change the heat or the sweat... ect... but no matter how much it is it is all worth it! every last degree, every least drop of sweat, for that single moment of great achievement. The moment someone gives up an addiction, or decides to read the book of mormon, or whatever it may be it is all worth it in the end!!!
Remember the Lord loves you! knows who you are! and the simple thing he asks us is to get to know who he is and his desires for us!!!
Remember in all you do the command from Jacob a prophet in the Book of Mormon in Jacob chapter 1:19
"And we did magnify our office unto the Lord, taking upon us the responsibility, answering the sins of the people upon our own heads if we did not teach them the word of God with all diligence; wherefore, by laboring with our might their blood might not come upon our garments; otherwise their blood would come upon our garments, and we would not be found spotless at the last day."

Love you! Do all you can to get there!

13 June 2011

I'm not for sure if you might understand this, but we came to Nogales today! Been to Mexico and back and well... It's been a great week! :) 1 new investigator... 86 year old woman... She came to church too! that was a blessing for her and for us too! we had been praying for her to find strength to be able to go to church! she has many health problems and really struggling for us to even meet with her because of such poor health. She has great faith for a deaf woman who can't really see much!!! she is awesome! just hope she will keep it up!
She came to church as I had previously said, but about 15 minutes before church was out she needed to use the restroom! She got up and a member tried to help her to the bathroom, but she refused help! She fell on her face in like slow motion!!! I felt soo bad for her!!! she has a black eye and carpet burn, but we aren't for sure what else!!!! :( We have been working hard as we can, and really searching for those who need our help!!! Elder Bradley was sick yesterday! Flu I think, but he is being a trooper today!! P-day a cherished day for a missionary I guess! cause he is right here along with us!!
Love it!!! Well gotta run, but more next week!!!!
Love you all!!!

7 June 2011

OK so this computer says I have 5 minutes left so I guess I have to make it a fast one... but... this week has been super nuts!! on Tuesday of last week 2 members invited us to go to a real nice restaurant with them. It is a rather different restaurant, it might remind you of like a Texas Rhode House or something like that, but was crazy cool. It is a restaurant in the back of an old wild west built town! I sent a few pictures that we took on the phone not real good of quality, but I'll try to get some out to you soon! We got to watch an old wild west shootout and all! So dad I really didn't miss Jackson all that much, just the trees!! there are none here! Palm Trees aren't the same!! really they are dead trees now for the most part, because they have had no water in almost a year, and well starting to get hot!!! 103 and 105 this week and it isn't the summer yet!!! I'm so looking forward to it! :)

This week was my first week conducting in sacrament meeting not scary, just kinda weird! I'm used to standing up in a ward and talking or saying something, and now just a group of 35-40 people, lot smaller!!! It's a really neat experience! get to find speakers soon! for the month!!! aah! not been able to find any new people to teach until last night!
we found an 86 year old Deaf lady who really wants to learn and no it isn't because 2 good looking missionaries came to her door!!! it is because someone opened their mouth and asked her! finally! Deaf people here are a bit afraid to offend or ask someone if they want to learn!! I wish they would do it more often!!! finally :) what is the worst thing they could say... No?

Everyday I see people driving by, laughing, making fun of something they have never tested out themselves, never asked a question, never taken the time to learn. It breaks my heart to see them do that and to know if only they knew what they were missing, if only they knew what they could have and just ignore!!! We have something truly amazing! shaping us and making us the Person God needs us to be, it is the atonement. The ability to be forgive and the healing power it gives us and helps us to forget! He loves us and doesn't want us to suffer! take the time to think it over! he can change us and take and make us who he needs us to be!
In Mosiah 14 it says, "3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6 All we, like sheep, have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquities of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb so he opened not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living; for the transgressions of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no evil, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief; when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

11 He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied; by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death; and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

He did it because he loved us not because he wanted to do so!! give it a shot Try it out! he will heal you as he is beginning to heal the 86 year old woman we are teaching!

Love you!! as you can see the computer lied! :) good thing or you'd got a few paragraphs is all!

gotta run! love you!!!

31 May 2011

WELL.. It has been a rather interesting last 4 days...
Weekly planning, Sod, Church, P-day, and well today!
Weekly planning trying to find how to find new people to teach... it has been real difficult to find... well a needle in a haystack. Saturday we had a service project real fun I guess you could say! 5 hours and a little of laying sod in the back yard... Elder Bradley and I it's been real interesting ever since.. I could say that that is not an activity for a person with a back problem and that is all i have to say about that!!!
Church on sunday was way cool of course! running like a chicken with my head cut off. can't wait til the president is gone for a week... I'll really be running with my head cut off! We get contacted for almost anything now anyway, but it's super crazy! It's been great, but real interesting when the councilor has to teach the president what to do! Almost done reading the manuals Bishop and aux manuals both! Been really interesting!
We taught this last week at church about Family prayer and Family and personal scripture study! was way cool! lot of fun... but difficult at the same time! deaf people don't like to listen they like to talk by the time priesthood and relief society start they have had enough of church. well that is the challenge.. love and cooperation!
P-day just the normal day of cleaning, sports, and finally didn't have to do laundry because we just did it on Thursday! been real crazy ever since we went to the temple! lots happening just hope it continues!!

Having a blast! hope all is well!

This week has been nuts, but at the same time I'm not sure what to really say! It has been quite an overwhelming week with lots of new and exciting challenges and assignments! The work is going rather well and we are super busy! It has been really eventful the last few days! Today was our quarterly temple trip and was really exciting! We had the whole Zone there and it was a great opportunity so that was why there was no letter this week on Monday! The investigator pool is growing and the Deaf people are becoming more and more curious about the LDS church every time we go and visit! the Lord is helping us to inspire and teach them with the spirit and my companion and I in unity! Well as you Know already Elder Bradley is Awesome! must I say any more than that! not really I'll try and get some pictures sent home soon again we just been swamp recently that there has been no time to do anything! We dropped one of our eternigators this week! we have been teaching her since September of last year and well she is now homeless and we can't contact her anymore! amazing how the Lord works in Mysterious ways in helping is children and his servants know what is best! We have been truly blessed this last week picking up a new investigator Terry Armstrong from California who is here on parole, but is working through the repentance process to get things straightened out so we can get him baptised! He is excited for it! we also set a new baptismal date with a man we have been teaching for a while he is so ready to be baptised it is crazy! June 11! you will learn other things soon cause I finally found time on the drive to the temple to finish writing you back from Family Home evening and they will be in the mail on the way to our appointment tonight! :) SWEET! I love it here!

Hope all is well! Stay safe and get healthy!
Love you all!

16 May 2011

Wow it looks like it has been a heck of a week for you all! and well for us too!! it is starting to get really warm now in the mid 90"s to 100's almost everyday, but it is still getting down in the 70-80 at night! It has been an interesting and rough week! sounds like you and I have been in the same place this week! The Hospital... I was there on Wednesday afternoon to check on spasing muscles in the upper left chest.. it was pretty cool and interesting at the same time but HURT alot!!! We have been doing well ever since! They said that I had muscles in the upper part of my ribs on the left side that were spasing out.. any way it is all doing well and is taken care of at this time!! No need to worry church is taking good care of us here! :) We reset a baptism date this week with matthew and have been going head strong ever since! The Lord love us and is showing us by trusting us! We were put in a Branch counsilors to President Krakowiak. Elder Bradley as 2nd counsilor and me as 1st. Boy is there alot of work yet to be done!!!! President Warren was released as branch president of 2 1/2 years almost 3 and put in as High Counsilor over the deaf branch! clever move I must say! We are looking up to it and moving forward the best we know how with this calling/assignment! :)

Know that I love you all! STOP FALLING APART! Also knoew that the Lord Loves you too!!!!
Good luck and have a great week!

26 April 2011

This week has been truly insane!! We started tuesday in Deming with a new investigator, she is a Jehovah Witness and pretty strong in her faith but is married to a member and is curious about it! we have been teaching her off and on with the video phone as much as we can! one of our investigators is in the hospital with some kind of a stone in her stomach and gall bladder too! she has been a wreck! we are moving her while she is in the hospital! she has made all the arrangements and ready to go through with being baptised! another investigator, GARY, is what you could call golden! He has a really difficult time reading the book of mormon well in fact he can't really read! he has the childrens book of mormon and is reading that along with reading and looking at the pictures! He said he loves it and feels great (the spirit) when we come and visit him! he tries his hardest and has been cleared for baptism on May 7th! :) First baptism in just under 4 years for the branch!! We also have another baptism scheduled for the 7th with another of our investigators, Tamiko. She is a single mother with two daughters ages 2 and 4. Nadina and Princess yes that is her real name! she is also a golden investigator! a member refferal. Tamiko has been searching for the truth and hasn't been able to find it, but she told us that she has stopped her search and found it here! :) it is great to see the lord working through us as we do our best to teach and serve! This is the Lord's work. He is at the head of it teaching and counciling us as often as we will ask!
This week we have been studying about the Role of the Holy Ghost and the Book of Mormon in conversion. As the book of mormon is read answers are found. anything you want to know is found in the book of mormon even how to spend your money of where to go in case of an emergency or how to raise children it is all there! as we read and pray we come to know that is a book inspire and written of God, not of man. Joseph Smith translated the book, but it was only through the gift and power of god that it was brought about! God is real. He knows and loves each of us. As we do our part in studying and learning He will show us who her really is and what he wants us to do!

I love you all! Hope you have a great week! it's supposed to be in the 90's again this week! 75 degrees is cold again so not cool!

The Lord works in mysterious ways and well all in all has been taking care of us in ways we can't even describe!! We have been absolutely swamped this week! having stuff coming out our ears to the point that is kind of overwhelming at time! and we haven't even had time to think! We will be going to Deming, New Mexico tomorrow for the day to contact a referral. It is about 4 hours away. going to be an interesting day!!! I'm looking forward to it but at the same time i'm kind of not! we have so much to do here in Tucson that we need 2 more missionaries here! We had 3 investigators at church this week and well as always have more work to do! 3 baptisms coming up in May and well we have 3 more refferals to contact!!!! We have been truly blessed this last week!!! We found 1 new investigator this week, another black woman ( not racist or anything) she's really cool!!!!!! she has 2 kids ages 2 and 4. and has been looking for the truth for quite some time! she said the first time we went to visit her that she felt peace for the first time in a very long time and that she really enjoys us coming! She is a single mother so it is really difficult for her! it's great to see the Lords hand in the work every day and to see it progressing!! :) New, fun and exciting things and challenges ahead!

Have an awesome! Remember I LOVE YOU!

Yo you you! ha yeah! it has been an awesome week this week!! we have been swamped and lots and lots of things to do!!! We are looking to be called as counselors to the branch president... President walker suggested that today in our eekly interview so new challenges await us in the near future! I just hope that it won't be anything greater than that!! We are swamped with the work and is so great to be busy!! The Lord has been blessing us greatly and helping us to accomplish his work! we have 2 baptisms that are near in the future which could be very interesting in regards to the work~!! we are having a really difficult time finding recently, but one of our investigators have shown us where several deaf live in the same apartment building that he lives! I love it here and couldn't want to be anywhere else at this time!
we have 4 investigators now 2 that are very near to baptism, and 2 others who are on the way! :) The work is tough, but some of the most rewarding work done yet! Jesus chirst lives, we are his children, and only through him can we recieve salvation and eternal life!
Even with the rain, the sleet, and the ICE!!! this week was great!! I'm starting to get feeling back in my hands and feet from the cold! :) so Life is good! :) I love it need not say more!
Love you all!! Have an awesome week!

Alrighty well there isn't much to say this week!! 2 of our investigators are moving, both because they are being abused, one physically and the other mentally and emotionally, I've been yelled at more this week than I think ever before in my life and well Satan is working hard here in Arizona! The mission has a goal to double the number of baptisms in May and well we have doubled our efforts to make that possible, but with that comes the heightened influence of Satan on the work making it really hard to find anyone to teach, but the Lord is truly blessing us. He is leading us and strengthening us and making us who he needs us to be to accomplish this work! He has lead us to new people who are ready to receive the gospel and need is so desperately. As the Sun comes up in the morning it is a new day not to look back on to what happened yesterday or last week, but to move on searching for the better and HOPING in what comes next.

General conference was awesome!! We, as missionaries, had the opportunity to watch all 5 sessions and also some of the young Women's meeting. It has been great to be able to hear from our leaders! I was also great because one of our investigators came to church and she learned about the Law Of Chastity from President Monson. We had taught her that lesson probably 15 times and she just didn't understand it very well, but this time it sank in! she will soon be moving out and leaving her boyfriend of 3 years, after which she will be a candidate for baptism!:) 10 months of work and she is almost ready for it! :0
What I have learned the most is that the Lord prepares our investigators for the time when he is ready, not for the time when we are ready. He loves to play tricks in and Satan loves to throw in loops, but most importantly as we try our best and trust him he will help us in all we do!

Hope all is well!!
Love you all!

Well not a whole lot this week! No exciting stories, but we had a pretty powerful week!! :) Most of all of our investigators are progressing strong and doing well! Saturday we drove all over the mission! :) Green Valley (yeah it isn't green, They are full of crap!), Sahaurita, Vail, Midvale, Tucson, Casa Adobes, Oro Valley and finally to Marana! It was a total of about 200 miles of nothing but Cactus and yucca plants with a little green in between everything! It has been so dry here this year! fire danger is crazy! had a fire on the other side of the mountain recently was nuts! But all is doing well!! The work is going great!! Companion is back on track and doing well!!! He is going to start to take over the area this week! :) getting him more involved! we were also told that we will be together until I go home that is a long time! haha! time is flying by so fast here is it crazy! hope all is well for you all in that cold place we like to call home! It is so beautiful here!! 80 degrees and getting hot fast! can't wait for summer to get here and be over with! I want the fall weather and the monsoons! :)

Well over and out!! Love you!!

21 March 2011

It's been an awesome and aweful interesting week this week!! everything from not body home to well yes you got it ANOTHER WRECK! The weather has been really crazy! today it is cold about 70 and yesterday and the day prior was about 90! it has been up and down! Nuts! anyway so you are probably wondering what happened with this other wreck!!! well We had just arrived at our investigators house Veronica and we were knocking on the door and talking to the neighbor lady that always tells us hello everytime we come. Her cousins friends came to get their drugs as usual from the lady and they parked on the wrong side of the drive way and the other lady would get mad if they parked on her side, So the lady we were talking to (also the drug dealer) told the lady to move her car to her side of the drive, so she immediately did so. but while doing so didn't pay any attention where she was backing and backed right into the drivers side of the rear of the truck. The passenger (I assume it was her boyfriend because nobody around here is into commitment just live together, sleep together, kind of people) anyway he was drunk, and got all mad and such and called his "friends" for back up!!! and so we got all the information we needed but he (boyfriend) was all mad and such so right after I got all the information and was walking to the car he came up and punched me in the shoulder! haha what a loser!! we then split just like a banana, out of the garbage( ghetto) and right home!! Our investigator was all worried! but she worries about everything!! So that was the awesome part of the week, well the eventful part of the week! and the aweful part was like the whole city of Tucson goes away on spring break and well this was spring break!!! Traffic was a breeze most of the week! :)

The Lord has blessed us and kept us safe! There are three men in this work keeping us where we need to be and safe! so no need to worry! :)

Happy Birthday Kort! I know you probably won't get this, but Love you all!!!

Hola Karlson Familia,
I won't torture you with spanish :)
This week has been so eventful i'm not sure of where to start!!!!! We've been sooooooo busy this week i'm not sure what to say! may things good and bad happened! I'll start off giving you a little of the bad news and wrap it up with the good stuff in the end!
Well you hear many many stories of missionary companions running away and not coming back well this last Saturday mine did just that, but he came back! He ran at about 12 midnight So really Sunday morning and didn't come back until 1 or 2. He took the phone and called the mission president and told him everything! There are no problems with he and I just He is used to the Country life and isn't adjusting to the city life very easily! He feels constrained in the City! I'll give him an AMEN on that one! So he is under heavy watch now! Both eyes on him! Have to go to the bathroom and everything with him! It is a new experience! I'm learning to love him even more! When i have to change his diaper I will DRAW THE LINE!!! He only ran away to the Stake center and played the piano so that is the luck of it all, but the most funny part about it is I SLEPT THROUGH IT ALL!!!!! He told me when we woke up on Sunday!
Anyway for the awesome news! the work is going crazy! we have so many referrals that we don't have enough time to contact them all!! We will be headed to Nogales possibly this next week sometime! teaching a man there now!!! Well in RIO RICO for you that know where that is! 8 mile north of nogales and about 12 miles north of the Border!!! We've been in sahaurita, Midvale, Just north of MARANA, San Manuel, We just haven't touched New mexico yet other than that we've hit it all i think this week!

My back is doing great recently! :) still stiff as ever, but it seems to be improving! I only see the Chiropractor every other week now! :)
The Lord is truly blessing us here!!! Doctrine and Covenants 4 says "there is a marvelous work about to come forth among the children of men" there is no ABOUT in that scripture it is truly coming forth and his work is going forth! :) I Love it here! It is 85 at NOON! :) was 92 yesterday! :) BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Love you all!!

We are hoping for some more rain soon! it is super dry here allergies are awful!!! fire danger is extreme! The work here is moving along great! we have a branch activity planned for tomorrow and well plan for almost all of our investigators to be there! we also received a referral on Tuesday for a Korean woman who we have an appointment with tomorrow! ummmmm but she is very limited in ASL and well from the likes of it and what the other ASL sister said KSL Korean Sign Language!!! that is 6 languages we will be learning! Spanish, English, ASL, LSM (Mexican sign language), NSL (Nepal sign language) , KSL (Korean sign language)!!! can't wait! this mission may seem the hardest thing, but at the same time the most rewarding thing ever too! of all the things I've done in my life, scouting, dancing, traveling, whatever the mission is the most rewarding. My companion is awesome and I'm not sure i could ask for anyone who could be better!! very diligent and loves to learn!! :)

Hola!
Alright I'll be nice and write in English this time! :) ha ha yeah my Spanish skills aren't that good and well that is practically everyone I talked to this week! They have taken over Tucson! :) not really there are a few white people in the mix! This week as been rather long and well tough! I've been sick most of the week! We think it is the flu which is really taken its toll on alot of the people here in Tucson! it's brought us down hard! many in the hospital! crazy! anyway! it didn't stop us from working of course our determination and my stubborn head kept us moving! No new investigators this week and most of our investigators are either out of town or sick so we couldn't go and see them so we did alot of less active work and it seemed to pay off this week! we had a full sacrament meeting for the first time in well I can remember! It was great to have! typically we have about 20 members there this last week we had well over that upwards of about 30-35 even with all the sickness! it has been a crazy great week and full of lost of surprises! We had a Zone Training this week on Wednesday! It is like a mini Zone Conference! They stressed the many ways we are going to double the number of baptisms in the mission by MAY! last month we baptized 64. but the overall average is about 60! so the goal is 120! it's gonna take alot of hard work but well worth it! :) Lots of nuts and bolts that are being tightened in the mission! We also went to a YSA (young single adult) activity this week to help interpret! it was way fun! Saw the Loftfield's there. that is Stevie's parents! Kyle Gerratt's wife's parents! was cool to see someone I know! :) it was great information about strengthening relationships and receiving revelation! :P Then last night we went to a deaf fireside at the coolest deaf couples house! it was a deaf institute fireside about relationships and how to strengthen them! hmmm maybe they have a problem with relationships recently! or we are supposed to get the hint! hmm cool! any way! hope all is well! love you all!

Happy Valentines Day!

Pictures shall be on the way soon!

It's been a pretty rough week this week! It has been pretty slow work! Most of our Investigators have been out of town or really busy (so they say!) We have been going crazy in trying to find deaf people! setting appointments and doing our best to stay as busy as we can! the Lord Has truly blessed us this week In allowing us to teach a Baptist Preacher! it has been truly amazing to see the differences of someone who is really looking to and really researching the church. She has been comparing the book of mormon and the bible side by side for the last 4 or 5 days! well since thursday she has been and has read almost 1/2 of the Book of Mormon!! it is truly crazy!! She is awesome but she won't accept a baptism date! she thinks that the ones we have given her are too soon But we will continue to extend until she accepts!
We have set some pretty high goals and expectations and are looking to achieve those goals and expectations! The Lord will help us as we do our best and strive to Listen to what he is telling us!! The work here is great! The president keeps telling us that he doesn't know what we are doing, but to keep it up and we will see and reap the benefits! The deaf are just a little bit slow to understand, but it will all pay off in the end! He that asketh, recieveth. He that Seeketh, findeth. He that knocks, it shall be opened unto.Continue in faith and nothing shall fail!!

Know I love you all! Once again, Happy Valentines day!

Love,

Alright so the week in review! it's been another crazy and cold week here in Tucson! That is right! San Fran has been warmer over the last few week than it has been here! nuts! anyway! The work is going great here! Found a new investigator this week and set a date for him to be baptised on march 12th so we will see how that goes! he is looking forward to church next week and so aren't we! we have 3 expected at church next week and it is only Monday! :) this week is going to be awesome! We have been working real hard this week and well our efforts have been great! We met with President this morning to discuss Communication between leaders! crazy I must say, but Neither of us can hear on the phone that we have and well quite frankly we really didn't get anywhere with it! It is kind of difficult to change his mind after he already has it set. We are educating him alot recently! The Lord has blessed us with a great president and he is learning the ropes pretty fast! :) He really hasn't dealt too much with deaf missionaries so it is kind of different and especially 2 deaf missionaries! My new companion is Awesome! Elder Andrew Bradley. He has been learning sign now for a little over 13 weeks and well it is amazing to see how much he knows and understands! He is doing great and before you know it he will be taking over~! ahh!!! Time is flying by so fast here it is incredible! I can't believe it is already February! It is starting to warm up today 65 outside today, but it is still a little cold! the apartment is about 80 :) Elder Bradley doesn't really like it but i've been slowly and I mean slowly turning it down! It is about well hmm down to 78 and i've been working on that for about 2 weeks! i'm a wimp! haha! any way the work is going great! Hope all is going great!! Love you all! Have an awesome week! :)

Alrighty so off for the week! this week has been pretty dead week! not a whole lot, but Elder Bradley, my new companion is awesome! Transfers was this week as you can tell since it is tuesday emailing day! We dropped Elder Bohman off at the transfer site this morning at 7 am and have been running like a chicken with our heads cut off since!! It was a great week all in all! The Lord has been truly blessing us and me personally! Elder Bradley has been Learning sign now for about 11-12 weeks and his skills far exceed Elder Bohman's skills! He is amazing and is very pumped about doing missionary work! we have been doing alot of service recently and it has been getting in the way of the work a little but it will be put to a halt and back to the real missionary work this week!! We are to begin the hardcore work this week!!!
It has been an awesome week just a little slow on the numbers and sometimes that can be stressful, but just know that this next week will bring about a more productive week! :) yeah!
attached are pictures well a few from our recent excursions to the temple and of our three some!
Love you all!! hope your week is as fantastic as ours will be! :)

Love you!

I just picked up my companion from the mission office and well we are now in a threesome for the next week and possibly longer! Elder Bohman Elder Bradley and me! I is gonna be a huge blast!!! he is a fun elder ready to work and loves to play too! :) Love it here! Gotta run!!! Alrighty, so the wek of the 18th as it is to be called I guess! it has been a crazy crazy week! we got to see the President this week that was kinda cool, but only as he drove by in a super black Chevy Tahoe... The police have been on a higher alert these past weeks espically the motorbike police! they are all over! There were TV stations for miles and miles with satellites and all on top of them! they were the big big big stations not just the local stations! It was really cool!!! any way the week here has been nuts!! we didn't have p-day yesterday and all 1 reason no email because on monday with MLK day and all nothing was open to email, but the other is we are going to the temple tomorrow!!! :) Also many other things are coming our way in the very near future. We have the new missionary next monday coming in so that could mean that email next week could be messed up hardcore, that also means I am getting a new companion. I'm not for sure when he flies in or anything so it could be a pretty crazy day!!! We found 3 new investigators yesterday and well these ones are going to be a test of our faith and diligence and will help us to develop true love for them! they have NO language skills at all one can sign very little, home and baby sings is all!! it's crazy! They think that God and Jesus Christ are deaf and that all hearing people are the spawn of satan, but we have the faith and desire to change that!
We ahve been chainging our focus recently on how we teach people! We have gone from telling them what they are doing is bad and they need to stop, to teaching them the basics and focusing our teaching on the atonement and the ability to repent and be forgiven! it has truly helped alot and has helped them to really progress and change faster! The Lord knows the best and we just have to Listen and do as he teaches us!
This week I have been studying the Role of the Holy Ghost in conversion Chapter 2 on effective study the second section! it has really helped and benefited the work here and has helped for those we meet and myself to truly listen and recognize the prompting of the spirit!
This work is a Slow process, but I can't believe how the time has flown! if feels just like yesterday that I went into the MTC, and even though the month at home seemed like an eternity, the year flew by! as I look back it seems like so much has changed and life here has become much more grounded in the teachings of jesus christ! effective study every morening is where is starts. I can notice the days I don't have such an effective study are the days that the day doesn't go as well!
I love it here! the temperature is now getting hotter and hotter and before I know it I will be freezing again! scary January is almost over, but a new one is to come!
Take care! Love you all!

10 January 2011

Alrighty! so the update for the week and well the news too...
I just start out by telling you a little information about the shooting and telling you that all is well here. We are not far from where it took place but all places have hyped up security and all is well here! There were 6 deaths and 18 injured. one of which was a young girl who was 9 years old. The 22 year old man who did the shooting was taken down at the scene and is going to be put through trial today at 4 pm in phoenix.

This week has been full of many amazing things! many new challenges and with the heat and the extreme cold for us here comes alot of sickness! that's right! runny noses, headaches, the whole nine yards. crazy!
Yesterday was a truly humbling day along with Saturday. This week we have me so many new deaf people the work is just exploding here so much we have no time to do it all!

Saturday Elder Bohman and I went to help an older couple with some service, and I truly realized how blessed I was to have a body that works even if it is hindered a little every once in a while. The 2 people we went to visit one is in a wheelchair and suffers from post polio, fiber mi alga ( i don't know how to spell it but you get the picture), and something else, along with back surgery and even more and the Sister just had back surgery and is going in to fix the surgery she just had because it wasn't done right. The Kerastas family is so cool!

Yesterday being Sunday we tried to visit all the people we could that didn't go to church, most of those included the Less or Inactive people in the Branch. We went to one man, Michael Bley, and explained to him that drinking beer was wrong and that he needed to stop now and not in april. I was so bold it wasn't me! the Spirit truly took over. We also went to visit one of our investigators Veronica Williams, She has had a rough life, but she came to church yesterday and was interviewed for baptism, which she didn't quite pass because of a Law of Chastity problem. I wish she would just move out, or well first have the money to move to a new apartment and could get away from her boy friend that just takes advantage of her! we have been working with her for the last few months and she has come a long way hoping she will come even that much more before she is to enter the waters of baptism. Can't wait!

This week our Brand new truck broke down and well you can see the pile of junk we took out and set on the side of the road so it could be towed! :) Nice... thanks Chevy!

Well the pictures this week are of the recent campaign ads for the church here! they are advertisments of the new remodeled church website Mormon.org. check it out! :) awesome well Over and out!!

Love you all!

03 January 2011

Ok so this week has been crazy! fast and slow at the same time!! lots of new stuff happening! we found a new investigator this week her name is christina she is truly ready for the gospel and has been taking the lessons from the spanish missionaries for a while the they called us and asked us to come over! she is almost completely deaf but has been reading their lips! ooh no they have confused her some, but that will all be straightened out soon!! it is truly a blessing to be able to teach instead of just finding or searching for people to teach!! we have been truly blessed the last few weeks! New years holiday was this week and that slows down the work a little! many people don't like to be bothered by missionaries during the holiday so they won't answer the door when they see who it is! it is kind of frustrating!!! Lot is happening and is yet to happen. we are looking forward for the new missionary coming here in well about 2 weeks and a half or so! Life is great here! the weather has been suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper cold this week got down as low as 27! crazy!!!! and is snowed in the mountains as you can see in the pictures! i hope you enjoy some of these pictures! take care and have an awesome week! :)

love you!
